Gastronomic Weekend Breaks

Why not come and join us on an adult only gastronomic weekend break and enjoy gourmet French food cooked by resident chef and owner, Mark Down. 

Arriving on a Friday you will be treated to aperitifs and canapés followed by a gourmet meal comprising a starter, fish course, main course, cheese board, dessert and coffee with truffles.

The following day, after breakfast, you will have the option of being taken to a typical French market or be left to explore the local area before being treated to another gastronomic delight cooked by Mark on Saturday evening.

Maybe on the Sunday you wish to relax in the garden at Les Ruches or perhaps go walking in the charming Vienne countryside.  Sunday evening you will be once again in the capable hands of Mark who will cook another beautiful meal for you.

For a luxury break you can stay in 'The Fireplace Room' or 'Chateau View' for £350 per person or for a more economical stay you can stay in either of our elegant doubles, 'The Blue Room' or 'The Green Room', for £250 per person.

Prices are based on two people sharing, three five course dinners, including wine.  Breakfast is also included.

Transfers can be arranged from either Poitiers airport or train station or the airport at Limoges.

Cooking Courses & Holidays at Les Ruches

You don't have to go far to find things to do in and around our chambres d'hotes in the Vienne. 

Mark runs several cooking courses and gastronomic breaks throughout the year.

The kitchen we use for our courses has been converted from an old farmer's cottage situated in our courtyard opposite the chambres d'hotes.  We have transformed the cottage into a fully equiped kitchen in a traditional French style.
