Getting to Us

The chambres d'hotes at Les Ruches is based just inside the Vienne region of France about half and hour south of the regions capital, Poitiers, and half and hour north of the border of the Charente region.  Here are just some of the ways you can get to us. 

You can fly by RyanAir from Stansted Airport to Poitiers and from Birmingham Airport to Poitiers or take theEurostar from either London or Ashford to Lille or Paris and take the SNCF line to Poitiers train station.  You can then hire a car and drive to us in just over half and hour.

You can also fly by RyanAir from Stansted Airport or Liverpool Airport to Limoges which is about a 1 hour and 30 minute drive.  There are summer flights from London Gatwick to La Rochelle by EasyJet.  La Rochelle is just under a 2 hour drive away.

How to Find Us

Sommières du Clain is situated on the D1 and is a 35 minute drive south of Poitiers.  If you enter Sommières from the North, cross over the bridge and take the next right turn up a little lane called "Rue de Lavaud".  If you pass the boulangerie you have gone too far!. 

Another way to get to us is to take the Eurotunnel and enjoy the scenic drive through France or take one of the many ferry crossings available - Speed Ferries, Sea France, P&O, Hover Speed or Brittany Ferries. to name but a few. 

If, however, you are entering Sommières from the South, you will pass the boulangerie on the right and then take the first left turn up a little lane called "Rue de Lavaud" .  If you cross over the bridge you have gone too far! 

Once you are on Rue de Lavaud drive for approximately 100 metres and turn left in the lane marked 'Cimetiére'.  You will see a gate between two large fir trees... you have found Les Ruches!
