The Village

We are nestled in the small picturesque village of Sommières du Clain which is overlooked by the stunning Chateau de Sommières. The village also has an ancient church, l'Eglise de St. Gaudent.  Some parts of the church date back to the 11th century.

The village also boasts a restaurant, bar, grocery store and chemist and is an ideal place to stay to experience life in a typical French village.

 

The Vienne Countryside

The countryside surrounding the village is dominated by stunning sunflower fields, rolling fields of maize and woodland typical of the Vienne region of France. 

There are many activities in and around Sommières that we can advise you on including country walks, pony trekking, canoeing and fishing on the river Clain.
